Since the last few have hit it on the head, i am not going to re-itterate all the features, etc. I am re-ordering this because i lost the other one within a week of recieving it.
But its a great product, easy to use, havent messed with the component hookup yet, but with the composites, give a good mostly clear picture on my 42" HDTV. Not 1080, but i dont encode my files at top quality for space consideration. But even at a 75% quality encode, the picture is still crisp and the audio is as good a quality as the file. Like others have said, make sure you have your volume up.
One note of caution, the zune menu looks like crap on tv when you shift over the display. Dont fret, once your movie starts, you will be good to go.
I wanted something to connect my zune 120gb to my theater receiver, and I wanted to have something to hold my zune while it charged so it didn't get knocked off. This fits the bill nicely. The base is heavy enough to feel like it won't fall over, and the remote works great as long as you have line of sight. I haven't checked the video out so I won't comment about that.
It works great, took about 5 minutes to set up. This time is counting taking it out of the box and installing the correct place for the zune to sit in. Watching movies that are on my zune on my TV now is awesome. Just remember to set your dispay to TV out, or all you will get is sound. Well worth the price I would have paid more.
I saw a few reviews saying it would, and a few saying it wouldn't. It definitely does. You don't get HDMI video out of it, but you can get composite which works for me. You just have to detach the interchangeable faceplate and plop your Zune HD into it.
Initially, the remote didn't work. I went out and bought some batteries (2032's) and put one in and everything works now. Another reviewer mentioned that he couldn't get the battery out. The trick is to slide the remote open as far as possible, then smack it on your hand so the battery falls out.
Another useful thing is that you can take the USB charger and plug any other USB device into it to charge.
The only dissapointing facet of this that I can't get my zune to do a wireless sync while it's plugged into the dock, but if you plug it into the computer, Zune software kicks in and you can't use any of the controls, thus I can't leave the dock plugged into my computer. Seems like an OS problem, more than anything else. Not worth docking any stars.
